Hard Copy
A printed paper copy.
Hard Disk Drive
An internal storage device on a computer which accesses information faster than a floppy diskette.
Health Savings Accounts
Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) are government approved, tax-deferred accounts that typically target individuals with
high deductible health insurance plans. All contributions and distributions are tracked and reported by the Retirement
system while the customer determines what the funds are used for. In addition, the customer can make withdrawals via
checks or debit card.
Hold
A restriction on withdrawal of all or part of the balance in an account for reasons and time periods defined by your
bank.
Holder in Due Course
As defined in the Uniform Commercial Code, a party who accepts an instrument in good faith and for value, without
notice that it has been dishonored, it is overdue, or that there is any claim against it.
Holiday Club
A special savings account that has deposits made at regular intervals. The account is usually closed and the balance
distributed to the depositor in late October or early November.
Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC)
A line of credit offered by a bank to customers that have equity in their homes.
