Anita Florek is seasoned executive level professional with over 30 years of hands-on experience in all phases of bank financial management. As Chief Financial Officer for FCSB her duties include management and regulatory reporting, asset liability and liquidity management, interest rate risk modeling and strategic planning. Ms. Florek works closely with executive management in the Retail and Lending divisions with a team goal of improving financial performance.
Ms. Florek’s career began at Smithtown Bancorp in her initial role of Assistant Comptroller, promoted within a short time to Chief Financial Officer. The move to First National Bank of New York (FNBNY), formerly Madison National Bank, came after 29 years of service at Smithtown Bancorp. After spending three years at FNBNY, her career path lead to First Central Savings Bank, with over four years of current service. Her role as Executive Vice President/Chief Financial Officer at FCSB has come with many similar responsibilities as at the prior two banks for which she worked. Asset liability and liquidity management, along with strategic planning remain primary responsibilities, in addition to investment decision making, pricing and oversight of all management and regulatory reporting. Ms. Florek also served as Interim President for the Bank for a three-month period during which time this position was vacant.
On a personal level, Anita has served as a Director of the Guide Dog Foundation of Smithtown, for which she was able to raise over $250,000 in donations through her organization of 7 Community Dog Walks. She also served as a member of the Board of Mercy Haven, an organization whose purpose has been to assist people with mental illnesses in their housing and educational needs.
Ms. Florek holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from Queens College and a Master of Science Degree in Banking and Money Management from Adelphi University.
